CORONAVIRUS (COVID-19) FAQ

Updated on April 15, 2020.

Things look very different right now. Although we as Fellowship are doing everything we can to act wisely and ethically within
Michigan’s latest stay-at-home executive order and CDC guidelines, we thought it best to be as transparent as possible in terms of the measures we are taking to ensure the safety of our volunteers and community.

Is Fellowship hosting any in-person gatherings?
No, we have cancelled all in-person Sunday morning/mid-week gatherings. Children and Students are meeting via Zoom every Wednesday at 7p and 7:30p, respectively.

How are Sunday mornings being handled?
We are continuing to livestream Sunday mornings live at 10:30a from Fellowship the building. This remains within the bounds of the current executive order: “Consistent with prior guidance, a place of religious worship, when used for religious worship, is not subject to penalty under section 17 of this order.”

What measures are being taken to ensure safety?
We're making sure to follow all CDC and state guidelines while loving our God, local neighbors, and community well. We have taken the necessary precautions to make sure we act wisely and with care toward our community.

In accordance with CDC guidelines and in constantly doing our best to reevaluate/reassess our strategies in taking informed counsel, such measures include:
-Limiting the amount of onsite personnel to 10 or less
-Limiting the size of our music/tech team to much lower than normal
-Limiting the variety of who is volunteering week to week
-Pre-recording certain elements within service, such as the host
-Enforcing the 6’ social distancing radius on stage and in the tech booth
-Sanitizing hands before walking in the building (and encouraging the wearing of masks as an optional measure), as well as ensuring in-building sanitation
-Suspending mid-week rehearsals so as to limit contact as much as possible
-Ensuring the health of our volunteers and those they have come into contact with, as well as requiring our volunteers to have social distanced throughout the week
-Ensuring any volunteer who is in an at-risk category (60+, immunocompromised, etc.) does not volunteer in-person at this time

Is ministry still happening?
Absolutely. Besides livestream Sunday mornings and Children/Students Zoom meets on Wednesday evenings, we have Monday-through-Friday Zoom prayer times at noon. Staff has been working, believe it or not, more hours throughout the past month, and will continue to make calls, improve online infrastructure, create videos, find opportunities to help those who most need it—physically, emotionally, and spiritually within our church and community—and communicate as much as we possibly can about updates and opportunities to be forMacomb. And as always, we’re keeping Facebook, YouTube, and especially Instagram up to date with the latest in the life of our church.

When will Fellowship gather in person again?
We do not know when we will be able to meet in person again, but for sure not until May at the earliest. Nothing will be decided though until further guidance from our state and federal governments. We will keep you updated with the latest, and we’re looking forward to celebrating upon our return. Until then, God’s Spirit is still moving in incredible ways; he is not confined to a building, and not even a laptop, phone, or TV screen can inhibit his moving.
