LORD, HAVE YOUR WAY.

week of prayer // day 5

God,

As Christ said himself, we also say: "I want your will to be done, not mine" (Luke 22:42 NLT).

Have your way with our church Lord.

It was you that declared, "I will build my church" (Matthew 16:18 NLT).

We are not in charge of building Fellowship, you are. May Fellowship reflect your glory, goodness, and generosity to those around us.

Have your way with our lives, Lord.

You said, "If any of you wants to be my follower, you must give up your own way, take up your cross, and follow me" (Matthew 16:24 NLT).

God, I surrender where I am seeking my way and not your own.
[Reflect on areas where your way is overtaking God's way.]

God, I willingly pick up my cross.
[What sacrifice is God asking of you? Take a step of faith and commit to obediently following it.]

God, I want to follow you.
[Where is God asking you to go? Commit to going there.]

God, we hold on to your words where you said,

"If you try to hang on to your life, you will lose it. But if you give up your life for my sake, you will save it. And what do you benefit if you gain the whole world but lose your own soul? Is anything worth more than your soul?" (Matthew 16:25-26 NLT).

[Put on some soothing music, turn off all the noise, or do something to allow you to sit in the presence of God. Spend 10 minutes just sitting in His presence. Rest in him.]

Lord, we commit our lives, our family, and our church to you.

Amen.

Thank you for enabling reflection about where God wants me (us) to be and how he wants to work through and in us. Although it is a confused time with evident changes, the Lord is in it and leads us through the quagmire onto the path that is set for me/us. We are both seeking God’s clear leading, willingly.
Focusing on Him refreshes the troubled soul, for sure.
