Pennsylvania Missions Trip
The Fellowship Student group is going to Erie, Pennsylvania from July 9-16, 2023 to be a part of a large work project group. The boroughs adjacent to Erie, PA have seen a cultural change over the last several years as major industrial businesses have left and caused the community to rely on tourism for the foundation of their economy.
Though Niagara falls and Lake Erie bring in tourists throughout the summer, the months of winter have created a lot of struggle in the community. Because of this residents need assistance to help preserve the beautiful community of homes in the city. During our week in Erie, we will be the hands and feet of Jesus to make a difference in this community who is struggling to survive and are looking for a new connections and helping hands.
We will provide home repairs at no cost for elderly, disabled, and disadvantaged people. We expect to work with the same resident for our entire trip so meaningful relationships can develop. Some of the potential projects will include interior and exterior painting, building or repairing porches and wheelchair ramps, building or repairing steps, weatherization and other home repairs. The work we will be doing will have a great impact long after our week is over.
